Deronda Baughman received her BS in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 1988, married Kilgore native Thomas Baughman in 1989, and moved to Longview. There they had their daughter, Quincy, and, except for a brief time in Austin, they have lived in East Texas ever since.
Deronda caught the house bug when she designed and built her first custom home. She loved it so much she moved into building custom and spec homes from 2003 through 2011. Real estate sales seemed a natural extension of her work, and she was a practicing Realtor from 2006 to 2009. Although she has maintained her real estate license, she spent the past few years pursuing her interest in public speaking. Deronda received her MA in Communication from the University of Texas at Tyler in 2014 and taught Public Speaking classes there for the next 4 years. This love of public speaking prompted her to hold workshops for midcareer executives and to present at conferences. Additionally, she conducted research and published several papers as an adjunct instructor at UT Tyler.
Although she enjoyed her years teaching university classes, Deronda is thrilled to return to real estate. She is working with JWA developing special projects and processes in a way that combines her education with her love of real estate.
Secret superpower? I remember EVERYTHING!

Perfect day? Laying by the pool with my husband and a cold beverage in my hand.
Proudest moment? When my daughter, Quincy, graduated college.
Most embarrassing moment? Utterly failed handspring in front of 500 people!
Biggest challenge: Empathizing without giving fix-it advice.
